Installing Java on Windows

Newbies to Java on Windows (it is built-in to Mac OSX) need not fear, installing Java is very simple; just follow the steps below.

1. Click here to download the Java installation kit.
2. Click on Download J2SE JRE under J2SE v 1.4.2_xx JRE.
3. Click on Accept to accept the license agreement and go to the next page.
4. Click on Windows Installation, Multi-language.
5. A download dialog box should pop up; click Run (this is safe).
6. It will download and Run the installer; just follow the simple instructions. Novices, use the typical (default) settings.
