VP 0.2.8 Beta
New Features
FEATURE ADDED: Control Panels
In its most basic form a landscape is a
collection of "memorized" control panel settings (i.e., midi control
values) that can be called-up and sent instantly to the Kurz. A single
control panel can contain an unlimited number of landscapes, and up to
10 can be associated with one of the "quick access" buttons.
In addition to this basic ability, landscape can also contain
customizations to the base landscape (also called its "main" landscape).
The reason for this is that some might want to have custom
configurations (e.g., colors, panel definitions, buttons, labels, etc.)
associated with a particular landscape. Landscapes can even change the
Program on one or midi channels when they are called up.
VP control panels can be associated with particular Programs and Setups
and called-up automatically when that Program or Setup is selected on
the Kurz. Thus, a Program or Setup can be initialized by a particular
landscape.
To get a better taste for landscapes and control panels, see demos 4 & 5
on Downloads.
Control Panel Tips:
- You can drag-n-drop settings (i.e. "MIDI72") from the main screen to controls in the Control Panel. It copies the "Label/Name" and the Control #.
- Labels in the Control Panel can send Init messages when "Init on Entry" is checked.
- Control #0 & #32 will send "Program Changes" (with "Bank Changes") from Radio Buttons & Labels (not Check Boxes or Sliders). The "Program" field should become enabled.
On Landscapes:
- You can drag-n-drop labels from the "Landscape" name area to any of the "QuickAccess" buttons.
- If there is a ":" in the name, all text up to the first ":" is taken to be the button label.
- You can drag-n-drop between buttons.
- Crtl-drag-n-drop "swaps" buttons.
- You can delete a button label by dragging the label back to the Landscape name type-in area.
On Controls:
- You can drag-n-drop properites between controls; this is a "Move" operation.
- Crtl-drag-n-drap between controls will do a "Copy" operation.
On Panels:
- "Link to Landscape" means that the control panel type will be associated with the Landscape (it will override the type in the <main> Landscape).
- In "Enable Edit" mode, pushed-in panels represent panels defined on the <main> Landscape; popped-up panels represent panels
defined on the current Landscape (i.e. linked panels).
